I heard that they were looking for to much money.Do they charge the Dj that plays to entertant the crowd and steer from the rear.
Sure there is no sound off events left in the south of ireland now.
And people wonder why spl competions are going bad why would ya bother like.

The problem with EMMA in Ireland is that the lads are far too nice:o :o . I am only involved on the edge of the organisation currently but I know from past experience, including this year, that most of the time you would be well out of pocket going to a show
If for example the dude thats running cool nights wanted to get the SCA over from the UK(IASCA Sound off) well he would have to pay them a fee, not sure exactly what it is, but it is in the thousands. He would have to supply Flights, hotel rooms and then feed and water the judges. He would not be charging them thousands, its ridiculous:rolleyes:
This leads me to a bigger point in that the SCA in England whilst I'm sure could do with more support, at least has a resonable level of dealer and manufacturer back-up. EMMA at present has probably only one dealer backing it up and they are in the North.
Now some of that can be layed at the feet of EMMA too in that there are only a couple of die hard enthusiasts running the thing alone, I'm as much to blame as anyone:(
So if you want a sound-off organisation that can attend all these show its pretty much up to yourselves to get involved, If the interest from you guys is there and you are willing to build cars and get involved with judging and running the thing well we can raise the profile and possibly avoid situations like cool nights.
Also hassle your dealer ask why they are not involved, we had a great show this year in Cork with a new dealer, who is planning bigger and better for next year
what do yous think ?

what do yous think ?
i think that ... actually u dont wanna know what i think about that ....
how much the showcar owners pay you ? or you pay them ?
sound systems are part of carshow, but it seems not at coolnights ...
sry im wrong, shity 6x9's in well modded skylines HAHAHA thats all about caraudio and FUSION stand on the show :D
in that case u pushing sound enthusiast away ... but at those shows are good for rookies, where they get theyr first knowlages about sound and stuff ... maybe ...
nobody makes money there as u know that, all waste of work, petrol and thats it .. and in that case u ban soundlovers from the show, they will soon show you the middle finger and will do theyr own shows ... trust me they will
coolnights, YEEEE, every year 3-5 new cars to look at anywey :D
u making not enough money there that u have to ask money from Emma lads who doing this for free ?
how much u wanted ? 1 or 2 grand ? haha thats a real nice joke dudes ...
get a life and think deeper, carshow is not just shiti tuned 1.0 corsas and every year about the same drift cars ...
thats what i think all about that
for me its a coolnightmare since those shity news ...
and PLEASE make some visual tests before u hiring "showgirls" into your show :D big bellys and tsellulite is the last thing what men are looking at that show :D
hope u get feeded

I have no problem getting involved at all i have spent a lot of money in the last year on my sound system compete with no where to go with it like. And i had another 3 sound systems in other peoples cars ready to go for coolnights.
And i do understand that coolnights should not be looking for money for emma to enter as they are one of the main attraction to the show.I bet steer from the rear aren't asked to pay.Should of guessed any way when mod motors got involed they want notthing but rwd cars.

I wonder have people been asking the organisers if there is a sound off at the show, it is possible they have no knowledge of the interest out there.......I am giving them the benefit of the doubt here:msnrolleyes:

have your concerns reached the organisers of the show? it would be a sad miss not to have the sound off comp even if only to generate more interest!

AFAIK there was a meeting with the show organiser, at this meeting EMMA was hit with the money thing, now I can't say what happened because I wasn't there and only got sketchy details of what went on.
I will try and find out though

would be interesting to find if you can,I am sure if we push hard enough and show that there is enough interest, EMMA would get in for free or get paid to do it like the steer from the rear folks

I don't think any of the competors mind paying there fair dues of the bill. But like i have noticed at alot of the sound offs i have attended we seem to be getting pusehed future and future away from the main stage.
Anyone got any contact details for coolnights. The only one i can see is the entry form

I think at this stage everyone involved with EMMA has packed it away for the year, I think this charging for the show business was the final straw. The plan is some sort of push for next year, we know we have at least one good show SPL & SQ in Cork so will have to take it from there

So we can forget about this then ok..
I no its not the emma fault but like one good spl competion a year is not near enough for some of the cars with thousands spent on systems to compete like.

Ok guys I'm new on here and I have been competing for a number of years in the UK. We have the same problems in the UK with event organisers IASCA has to pay the event organisers to hold an event they also have to buy a certain amount of tickets and hopefully sell these to their competitors/co-pilots.
The problems IASCA UK and EMMA UK are facing is the lack of manufacture/distributor/dealer support, here in Ireland event organisers/car magazines have no interest in sound off competitions (when is the last time you ever seen a feature in a magazine about a pure SQ/SPL car) if it wasn't for the likes of Phil at Audio Advice and Nige at EMMA the sound scene would be totally dead in Ireland.
IASCA used to run several shows in Ireland but the support from competitors was not enough to keep it going contrary to what people think IASCA UK/IRL had to in the past pay to fly their judges in from the UK and also pay for their accommodation. There are very few organisers now that will let a sound off competition come to their show for free such is life that they are out to make money from shows therefore free does not come into the equation.
Hopefully in the future if there is enough demand and support for the car audio scene in Ireland IASCA UK/IRL may come back and hold some events. It would be nice for me to be able to compete at home again instead of having to travel to the UK. Hopefully in 2008 I will be able to compete in some EMMA Ireland events if they do not clash with other competition events. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'm sorry for spoiling your conbribution.... but from what I can remember, and I may be wrong, please correct me if so.
The last posts you made (on IASCA.co.uk) about Nigel were far from complimentary, vis a vis the colapse of IASCA Ireland..... So presumbably you have made an apology to Nigel for your words and you feel comfortable posting again and giving us all the benefit of your experience
regards

Well to be honest, so far we probably have one in Cork:o
Just a thing as well, most of the Competitions that have been held here over the last couple of years are SPL only, the SQ really took a dive. However this is an issue we want to fix for next year

I never was a big fan of SPL. A lot of the top UK cars look like the installs have been just thrown in the cars. When you compare them to the top SQ cars not only do the SQ cars have a hell of a lot of attention to detail. They look good, they sound good, and they can be quite loud as well.
If you can get enough people interested in SQ. Why not organise a trip over to England to one of the big shows and let them see what its all about.

Well I am hoping to strip my SQ car and have it ready for the season, depending on work and stuff. But we'll see. I ma hoping to see a revivla in SQ in this country, I know I havent been able to make it to much in the past few months due to work, but we see how this pans out!
