The EMMA Ireland website was hacked this morning by a "Turkish" hacker.

We are currently in the process of re-instating the website & hope to go live again ASAP, though it may take a few days to upload all of the information that was lost.
As part of the hack all the database info for the site was lost & our hosts are unable to supply a backup copy, so we have unfortunately lost all forum data & posts.
The forum will be re-installed & you are asked to re-register & start posting again.

Well, theres should be always one of the admins who makes a backup copy himself once a week ...
Hop ethat makes sense in future, as you see in which world we live ...

Hope u get it back soon, but if the data is lost ... dam ...

The person/group responsible for hacking the site has been attacking sites all over the web recently & have apparently hacked several thousand different sites.

The basic site is back live, & more content will be reinstated in due course.

Our hosts are meant to do a nightly backup, but were unable to provide us with a copy.
We have recovered what we can, but they have corrupted the database with the forum postings, so we appear to have lost those.
The forum will be re-installed in due course, but all members will probably have to register again.

Oh right, so it's just to show their friends how much they can really f*ck up stuff. As in not for money or other gains as such?

They're just doing it to proove how big their e-p***s is to their pathetic friends.

Or to show how easy it is to get in, a lot of online security consultants are former hackers.
